Host Family Contract Agreement *

All members of the Homestay Family (Host Adults and their dependents) should adhere to the following: • Homestay families should only speak English while the student is in the home. • Homestay families will provide a separate room with a bed for each student they host. • Homestay families will provide a clean and safe environment for the student • Arrange transportation to and from the school at the scheduled times. Public transit should not be taken unless given permission by Praxis Learning. Anyone driving the student must be at least 18 years of age and hold a valid driver’s license. • Follow the appropriate steps to manage and fix any conflicts with the student (see the Homestay Parent Package). Please also inform the Head Coordinator as soon as possible about these matters. • If the student causes property damage, or you suspect that they have, please immediately contact Praxis Learning. Do not attempt to make the student pay for damages. • Do not make any financial transactions or negotiations with the student. • In the event of a medical emergency or illness, please follow the steps outlined in the Homestay Parent Package. Do not give them any medication, prescription or non-prescription. Homestay families should seek and find medical treatment for the student from a medical professional. All expenses will be covered by the student’s travel/medical insurance. • Homestay families will provide breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks for the student, unless a meal will be provided by Praxis Learning. This will be noted on the itinerary. • Praxis Learning will ensure that your contact information is kept secure and not shared with anyone outside of the company. • Homestay families may host one other student from another company, but the student must be the same gender as the student. • Homestay families should attend the Goodbye Party at the end of camp. All family members are welcome. • Praxis Learning must be informed of all residents and pets in the home, as per the application form. Please notify us of any changes in the home prior to them occurring. • Praxis Learning reserves the right to change or remove students from a homestay family at any point for any reason. These changes would be made in the best interest of the student. • Praxis Learning reserves the right to withhold a portion or all payment if the homestay family is found to be in violation of this contract. • In the event of any breach of this contract, Praxis Learning is not responsible for damages, legal fees, or any other losses as a result of failing to follow the instructions on this contract or in the Homestay Welcome Package.
